How To Raise Your Training Rates PDF Print E-mail
When asked,"When was the last time you asked you raised your rates?"- 99.9% of the trainers answered that they have never asked their clients for a raise in rates. It's Time For A Raise.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
By not asking for a raise of even $10 an hour from your clients, you are cheating yourself out a lot of money annual. How much? For ten clients training an average of fifteen times per week, you are cheating yourself out of $7,800 a year. Could you use an addition $7,800 a year? Of course you can, but if the extra income is not enough justification for you, here are a few more  reasons why.
WHY you should ask for a raise:
This is really not fair to yourself because: the cost of living increases an average of 5% each year, the gyms raise their training rates each year, even your client gets a raise each year, and $100 an hour is not the same as it was a few years ago, with most PT Studios charging $25 a session, you deserve it, and of course an extra $7-10,000 a year.
HOW you should inform your clients you are raising your rates:
First establish they are a happy with your service, this is important and also a closing commitment point.
Remember that you are not asking for a raise, you are informing your clients that you are raising your rates.
To be fair to them, offer them the opportunity to purchase as many session at their current rate as they like, and inform them that after those sessions are redeemed, your new rate will be in effect. Encourage them to purchase as many as possible, because after they are gone, so is the old rate.
A nice touch is to send each one of your clients a letter or even a card, informing them of your rate change and the opportunity to purchase more sessions.
Most clients are happy to give you a raise, it also encourages current clients to renew early and BIG!
